Oklahoma Wildlife Management Association
ABOUT US
The OWMA was organized to serve as an advocate for the benefit of wildlife and for the rights of wildlife managers, landowners, and hunters. We saw the significant role the Texas equivalent played in protecting hunting so we formed the Oklahoma Wildlife Management Association in 2007 following their model.

We focus on educational, scientific, regulatory, legal, and legislative arenas. We are absolutely dedicated to educating all persons, especially the youth of Oklahoma, about the conservation, management and enhancement of wildlife and wildlife habitat on private and public land. The decline in hunters has to be remedied by recruiting kids at a young age as well as adults interested in providing for their families. We feel it is our duty to educate them on all the benefits of hunting and instilling values to turn them into ethical hunters. We also see the value in providing them with guidance as they begin a journey into the outdoors. Our main goal is to ensure the preservation of our cherished rural heritage for future generations.
A peculiar virtue in wildlife ethics is that the hunter ordinarily has no gallery to applaud or disapprove of his conduct. Whatever his acts, they are dictated by his own conscience, rather than by a mob of onlookers. It is difficult to exaggerate the importance of this fact.
