Keep Your Skills Honed for Fall Hunting Seasons

When do you begin thinking about getting prepared for fall hunting seasons in Oklahoma? Do you practice year round or just the weeks leading up to season? One of the keys to success is consistent practice. As Oklahoma hunters, we owe it to the animals we chase to keep our skills in tip top shape, and we can't achieve that if we aren't making practice a year round routine. One trick I have picked up over the years to make practice more fun is to join competitions. When I only have my own results to compare to, it is easy to get complacent, but when I compare my skills with others, I get a new fire sparked and train a little bit harder! I owe it to dove I'm going to chase in September to be consistent, accurate and confident in my abilities so I don't wound or maim any.
